Open Arms Clinic healthcare workers provide essential care every day despite limited resources. During OAV’s July visit, clinic staff and Monduli District health leaders identified reliable instrument sterilization as an immediate priority for safe patient care. Their subsequent district report likewise listed an autoclave among the clinic’s urgent health-system needs.
An autoclave uses pressurized steam to sterilize appropriate reusable medical instruments between patients. OAV has received a pro forma invoice from a Tanzanian supplier for a 100-liter autoclave at TSh 8,970,550 (approximately $3,400 USD), including supply and installation. Our $3,500 campaign goal covers the quoted cost and accounts for modest exchange-rate or transfer fluctuations.
