Eunoto Primary School
Following the work to open the Open Arms Clinic in Losirwa Village, a team of U.S. healthcare professionals and Maasai community leaders recognized another urgent need: education for local children. Through dialogue in village meetings, the idea of a school was born, and planning commenced to construct and staff the community’s first school. In 2014, the school opened with two teachers and forty pupils. Today, enrollment has grown to more than 460 students, including 170 girls. The school provides a daily meal—often the only one the student will have that day—alongside a curriculum that nurtures curiosity, confidence, and hope.
The school has continued to expand through steadfast partnership among Maasai community leaders, teachers, local government, and U.S. donors—united by a shared belief in education as a pathway to opportunity. Over the past decade, new classrooms and teacher housing have been built. Every child now has a desk, and technology has become part of daily learning. Academic outcomes continue to rise, with more students than ever advancing to secondary school. This progress reflects what compassion and cultural respect can achieve together. With continued support, every child in Losirwa will have this transformational chance to learn, grow, dream, and thrive.
